Lemur is the worlds best MIDI/OSC controller for iOS. Benefiting from nearly 10 years of development, Lemur is synonymous with multitouch music control. Version 5.0 introduces the incredible new Canvas object and the Sequencer family of features with rock solid timing.

Canvas — Canvas is a brand new object that lets you script custom widgets with full multitouch support. The object is adapted from the HTML5 Canvas element, which means you can design widgets featuring complex shapes, animation, shadows, and transparency The Canvas object opens the door to a completely new Lemur experience, where the appearance and behaviour of objects can be designed to precisely match the demands of your project. Polygons, waveforms, circular objects and infinitely more are all possible with Canvas.

Sequencer — Lemur 5.0 introduces a family of new features for tight sequencing. This includes three new objects: StepNote, StepSwitch and StepSlider. Each of these provides a different flavour of sequencing and is ready to use right out of the box. The objects do the hard work for you, simply add them to your template and they are ready to control your MIDI instruments.

In App Editor — Design your templates on the fly, without a computer in sight. The In-App Editor, available on iPad only, makes multitouch control truly improvisatory by letting you shape your controller the same way you shape sounds. Virtually every function of the desktop editor application is now available through an intuitive system of iOS menus and widgets. Best of all – it’s easier to use than ever. This means a much smaller learning curve and an immediate initial experience. Any basic configuration, such as a typical bank of faders, can now be created with a few familiar taps and gestures. And any factory template can be adjusted quickly to suit your particular needs.

Skins — Lemur features three new skins, in addition to the classic look. Choose the look that fits your style and get inspired.

LiveControl 2 — Experience the ultimate Ableton Live controller, designed in partnership with master designer ST8. Improvise a riff on the Play page, then switch to the Sequencer page to edit the pattern. Choose a key and scale to guide your melodies and use Quick Chord to instantly create harmonies. Use the Modulate page to flawlessly map any parameter from any plugin to the MultiBall object and take advantage of Physics, LFOs and gesture recording. The Launch page gives you everything you would expect from a clip launcher, and more. We even integrated snapshots and morphing.

The In App Editor feature is accessible only on iPad devices.

CONNECTIVITY

Simply connect your iPad/iPhone to your laptop over Wi-Fi and make the connection! Lemur also supports CoreMIDI allowing you to use hardware interfaces such as Alesis iO Dock or the iConnectMIDI or class-compliant USB MIDI interfaces (with a camera connection kit). You can even control up to 8 computers from one iPad with Lemur!

So long that Iwas waiting for that apps to come on iOS! Used it few years ago on a real Lemur, will now have it on my iPad. Great! Control of multiple Mac, physics, scripting! Everythings here. :)

Awesome... Its working flawless for now with vvvv, reaktor, live... The support and community around is responsive, kind and helpfull.. Totally worth the price (bought the ipad just for it)

It s amazing to finally be able to use such a anthologic tool for such a price.

This is the best app ever to control Music, make Your own and create skills on Your computer! Every Musician should have this! Awesome!

No need to buy a controler,with Lemur you can create exactly what you need or use a template like livecontrol 2...

Some bad moments

Just unable to connect thru wifi since the ios6 update, as many user (see the forum). It was à great app but this main trouble still not solved. Avoid it for now.

PROS: you must have some if you succeed to make it work! CONS: Make you turn mad trying to make it work, if you see a white rabbit tattoo, it might be your lucky day to try! Big waste of money in my opinion, plus you need to buy other apps on a top of that, using all difference kind of communication bridge, and app editor, populating your app folder for nothing and that’s just the beginning! So you got two difference way of communicating, by midi and/or osc, some use both, so the best way is to bribe OS and iOS is to pair by wifi, meaning you losing internet (don’t even think about using docks or midi connector, if you havn’t read about osc communication first, and check if the device you want to connect is compliant with osc)! It’s not finished, first after installing all apps required, already an hazardous tasks, as nothing is clear, then you need to route them! Again, it is another hazardous task, there is not good tutorials on youtube, manuals aren’t clear, or sometimes even outdated, and that’s most of the problem, you can’t even be sure these apps will be updated in the future as ableton goes on with his upgrade! And the funny thing is even if you watch a tutorial on youtube, you need to turn your wifi off the internet making it hard, to check where a problem could come from, as you to jump back and forth with your wifi and the wifi pair! So most of the time, while you turning mad, trying to sort things out, you might not think that maybe, these apps, principally the one working on OS might be just outdated! And this is pointed to Mu, touchosc, livecontrol, livekontrol2! Don’t waste your money and time for now, on that, wait for a simpler solution, maybe buy a real hardware controller, it’s plug and play, and if there is a problem with it, you can bring it back to the shop! Plus this , these app might disappear and will have no more support, so you will have wasted your money anyway! I mean I knew that would have been an hassle to make your own config for controlling ableton, but somewhat a pleasure, of achieving something, and I quite like challenges, but here you can’t even pass step 1 of setting a communication between ipad and laptop! And I use an alesis dock, that is quite straightforward in term of midi for any iOS app that do not require bridge or OS app editor, it really works like a charm! So big deception, waste of money, and they are not cheap, you d rather buy synth app, drum app, like DM1, elastic drum,glitch breaks, or midi app like chordpolyapp, very fun , intuitive, no wasting your time, and very good in term of inspiration and creativity!

Hello There, Since the last update, Lemur crashes on startup on iPad 1, os 5.1.1 Please do something! Im only using the ipad for Lemur! Its the best controller so far! Dont want to move to another soft, neither another iPad. Thanks dudes!

i bought this expensive app to control Ableton Live. unfortunately the template LiveControl 2 is not compatible with Live 9.1! if you dont want to reinvent the wheel or reengineer everything by yourself get the more easier Touchable2 app.

Never bought an App More useless than this One ... Doesnt work ... No help or introducing section ... Way to expensive ... Want my Money back !!!

very ugly design, but the big problem is you cannot download the daemon software on your local mac and this is essential for using Lemur. they have a flash programs page that doesn’t work at all and they don’t even have a contact mailadress. so i paid the money but till now i couldn’t try the Lemur software, what a BS! my advice don’t buy or throw it in the garbage
